The current time period we are in is the twenty-second century, or specifically, somewhere in the 2100s. By now, nothing has really changed. Most things are the same as they were a hundred years ago. There are some cities that have grown in size, while others have shrunk. Towns and villages are the same. Leaders have come and gone. People have passed on, but more people replenish the earth. Human beings, however, still seem fearful of the shifter population, and when one is found among a community, nowadays they are either banished, forgotten, or killed. Larger cities tend to kill off shifters, but not all of them. The shifters seem to live in a village lost in time. As if the twenty-second century hasn't hit it yet.
